Terms of Service

Welcome to Retail Thrift Link! Your one-stop destination for your local thrifting needs. This Terms of Service Agreement (“Agreement”) explains how the service available on retailthriftlink.com (“Site”) works and how you'll be able to use them. This includes how to send retailthriftlink.com your unwanted clothes (“Clothes”) for the site to sell on an agency basis on our retailthriftlink.com shop (Shop), and/or donate to a retailthriftlink.com charity partner (“Charity Partner”). The Service is delivered to you by Retail Thrift Link, Ltd. (“retailthriftlink.com,” “we”, “us”, “our”)

 

If you're accessing and using the Site on behalf of an organization or company, you are directly warranted and are represented to accept the legally binding terms of this Agreement on the company’s behalf. Also, when using the Site, “you” or “your” will refer to you as an individual and to your company, if you're accepting the Agreement on behalf of a company. Please contact retailthriftlink@gmail.com for more information. 

 

The Shop allows shoppers the chance to shop for Clothes that pass our internal control checks. Also, Service here refers to the flexibility of the User to buy and sell Clothes. The proceeds of the sales of those Clothes are split among, you and us. Several sections of the Service may include additional provisions, descriptions of service, or other instructions which you want to also accommodates additionally to the current Agreement. A summary of the key segments to this Agreement includes:

 

  • Retail Thrift Link.Ltd has the complete right to choose which of the Clothes being sent are deemed ACCEPTABLE and ready to be upload for sale. 

  • However, the likelihood that Clothes being sent deemed UNACCEPTABLE, are donated to our Charity Partner (if applicable) or you may retrieve it back from us at your own expense. For more information click here

  • We acknowledged that human error will be present during the listing of you, your products, therefore it is the responsibility of the seller to double-check the listing they have made before proceeding to Sale.

  • We are able to adjust the listing price and may discount your item to help promote to sell better. 

  • We will remove any items which do not sell within an agreed time and donate them to our Charity Partner. 

  • We charge a commission based on the sale of each item and we have reserved the right to change these fees in the future. Any change in fees will apply to all future sales regardless of when the item was processed. 

  • *NOTE THIS SERVICE CURRENTLY IS ONLY MADE  AVAILABLE TO RESIDENTS OF BRUNEI DARUSSALAM*

 

That said, you have AGREED to this AGREEMENT by accessing the site or by using the SERVICE in any manner (whether via personal computers, mobile devices or otherwise). If you do NOT accept these Terms, do not use the SERVICE. We recommend you print a copy of these Terms for future reference.

 1. Account Registration 

Our Users can flick through Clothes within the Shop without an account but you would like to own an account to get or sell Clothes through our Site. By creating an account, you have agreed to the term and conditions applied by the site. This includes; (a) you are permitted to have only one account per use of our Service, and (b) conform to our user eligibility clause. We allow our user’s the power to register for our Service using third-party services like Gmail or Facebook. If you choose to use a third-party service to register for an account, you are susceptible to provide your login information for such third-party service. That said, we will not receive or store any passwords for these third-party services. We recommend you review the privacy notice and your settings for such third-party service before using it to log into our Service. We highly advise you to not share your account, allow any other person to use your account, create an account on behalf of another person, or create an account to impersonate another person. This is because this account is personally for you. That said, Retail Thrift Like is not liable or responsible if any of the mentioned issues had occurred, hence you are responsible for all activities that occur under your account.

 

Whether you as the user have created your account with an authenticated application program, either through your personalized computer or mobile devices, you have the choice to store your username and password (i.e. your login credentials) in these web browsers, for you to automatically log in to our Site. Note that, third-party services will have access to your account if you permit them to possess access to your personalized computer or mobile devices after you have this automatic login feature enabled. Hence, Retail Thrift Link isn't responsible if any damages occur leading to unauthorized access to our Services from your account, this responsibility is entirely on the User. If the suspicious activity did occur, you should notify us immediately, and that we will do our best to help you.

2. User Eligibility

We assure you that you have warranted and represent; (a) of legal status (18 and above) to make a legal binding agreement with us; (b) all of the data given to us are the truth, accurate, and complete, and you must remain truthful, accurate, and complete with us; (c) you will respect the terms and conditions of this Agreement provided by Retail Thrift Link this includes the other related material, i.e. use of Service; (d) you are barred from using the Service provided by us if your intentions are for fraudulent purposes; and (e) your access to our Service or any segments thereafter won't constitute as a breach or violation to the other agreement, contract, terms of use or any law or regulation to which you're personally subjected to. Retail Thrift Link. Ltd, reserve the right to terminate your account if we have suspected reasons that are untrue, inaccurate, outdated, or outright fraudulent.

3. Selling your Clothes

Under this section, its purpose is to list information related to selling your clothes through our Site. If you are only interested in buying Clothes, please refer to Buying Clothes

3. 1. How to Sell Your Clothes with Us?

Congratulations! You have already decided to be part of our loving team. Thus, when you have already decided to be a Seller and sell your Clothes on our Site, you will have to do a few things:

  • You will need to make a formal request from your account either connecting to the dedicated contact form found on the “Sale or Donate” page or simply give us a chat via Whatsapp at +673 716 5048/ 868 2881. Note that we will quote you incurred charges when you request an inbound service. Please refer to the Shipping & Return Policy section of this agreement for more information on the inbound fees.

  • Hence, when you have read and agreed to send your clothes to us, we insist you place your Clothes in a box (provided by the User), and we will ship that box to us where it will be sorted and inspected by our team on the conditions of your Clothes. We recommend that you put more than one item in the box, to avoid wastage of space. 

  • If the Clothes have met all of our required criteria (See below: Eligibility & Restrictions), we will proceed by taking photos of your clothes, create a description for your clothes, determine the sale price for your clothes (based on the seller’s request), and post the clothes on our Shop. We might also create a post on other third-party social websites, i.e. Instagram and Facebook. 

  • If your Clothes have been purchase, we will ship the product to the buyer and pay you a percentage of the sales proceeds (see below: Sales Proceeds)

3. 2. Seller Service 

We do offer temporary storage facilities where your Clothes will be stored. However, this will ultimately depend on the storage capacity at any given time. Hence, we recommend you to contact us when you want to sell your product with us, where we would set an appointment for your box to be collected and stored in our storage facility. However, we may accept or reject your box at our sole discretion. Reasons include, without limitation, the Clothes are dirty, have a strong odor, are not of a product category we carry or do not meet the Retail Thrift Link standard. If we accept your item we may at our sole discretion group your item together with other items you have sent to Retail Thrift Link. Note that any item sent to our storage facility is at your sole responsibility and risk, whereby you will be responsible for any damages, deterioration of the item, and will bear the risk of any and all damages caused by fire, flood, heat, spillage of material, mildew, and etc. In other words, Retail Thrift Link will NOT provide any insurance coverage if any of the items are sent to our storage facility, in the event any damages did occur. However, we will assure you that we will store the item in pristine condition, as much as possible. Again, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE TO ANY CLOTHES STORED IN OUR STORAGE FACILITY.

 

We will bar any access for any box send to our storage facility if; (a) could damage the storage facility; (b) could be in any way endanger our staff or our property, or during the delivery to our property, this includes flammable, explosive, and hazardous, (c) it does not conform to the Eligibility & Restrictions guidelines listed below, or changes instructed by is in the future. 

 

However, the Seller may at any time request to reclaim their Clothes, as long as it has not been sold. The Seller can do this by logging into their personal account and message our team in the dedicated Chatbox or simply contact us via chat, particularly on Whatsapp at these numbers: +673 716 5048/ 868 2881/ 713 2039. We will happily return your Clothes back to you however, you are required to retrieve the Clothes at your own discretion. Other options include donating your clothes to our partner Charity.

3. 3.  Product Eligibility & Restrictions

You warrant and represent that when the item is posted on our Shop: (1) you are the sole owner and have the right and authority to sell or otherwise dispose of the item you send to the Service; and (2) the item you have sent to Retail Thrift Link is of respectable quality, regardless of brand. Any prohibited item (“Prohibited Item”) is strictly prohibited. Please refer to the Prohibited Items page for more information on the list of Prohibited Item. Retail Thrift Link reserves the right to immediately dispose of Prohibited Items and to suspend or terminate your account if you intentionally send us a Prohibited Item. You understand and fully agree that you are accountable for any unpaid fees whether or not your account is suspended or terminated.

3. 4. Rejected Items

If we decide to reject once or multiple times, we will either (a) donate your Clothes to a Charity Partner (with your consent); or (b) return your Clothes back to you at your expense. We reserve the right to donate the clothes you have sent if too many of the Clothes sent are in the rejected pile. We also reserve the right to suspend your account for a certain period or terminate it based on excessive amounts of rejects.

3. 5. Pricing

You will have the right to set at which price point your Clothes of each item will be sold but we strictly recommend you do formal research on the used market price of the Clothes being sent. In the event, that you fail to set a price on any of the Clothes being sent, Retail Thrift Link reserves the right to determine the sale price of those Clothes based on similar items that have sold on our Shop, the conditions of the Clothes, the season, and the Clothes potential value as determined by us. We may also adjust the price of any Clothes at any given time, in order to sale the Clothes quicker.

3. 6. Unsold Clothes

If your Clothes do not sell within 30 days*sp calculated from the initial date of posting, we reserve the right to request that you order the Clothes back. If we exercise this right and notify you of such notice, you will have additional 30 days from the date of our notice to reclaim the Clothes. You can reclaim your Clothes by notifying us in your account via the dedicated chatbox or simply call us. However, you will be solely responsible for retrieving back from us at your own discretion. IF YOU DO NOT RECLAIM YOUR CLOTHES WITHIN THESE 30 DAYS, WE ARE OBLIGE TO TAKE POSSESSION OF THE ITEM AND WE WILL, WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE AND IN OUR RIGHT, HAVE THE FULL AUTHORITY TO SELL AND DONATE TO CHARITY, OR OTHERWISE DISPOSE OF SUCH CLOTHES WITHOUT ANY FURTHER OBLIGATION, PAYMENT, OR OTHERWISE TO YOU.

3. 7. Sales Fees

If your Clothes are sold and we have received the payment from our buyer, we will pay you the portion of the sales proceeds after we have deducted the inbound service, which includes; shipping, labor sorting, marketing, and our own commission. Deduction on the portion of sales proceeds may be applicable, i.e. any outstanding fees and surcharges (from prior inbound submissions). Refer to the table below for Commission Structure & Fees:

  • Your Percentage:

    • 70% of all sale 

  • Inbound Service Fees & Our Commission.:

    • 30% of all sales, which includes inbound service fees (Shipping, Labour Sorting, and Marketing) and our commission.

Payment of sales proceeds to your account is done on the last date of each month. Hence, you should provide us with a valid and accurate Payment Account for us to transfer the payments to you. We will reserve the right to, upon notifying you, correct any sales proceeds errors even if the proceeds of a sale have already been transferred to you. Also, we reserve the right to withhold any or all sales proceeds if we have reasonable evidence to believe that you have breached this Agreement.

3. 8. Donations & Charity Partners

Retail Thrift Link will provide options for you to donate your Clothes to a local Charity Partner. This can happen either; (a) you solely wish to do so, (b) if your item is not sold (if applicable), and (c) you have breached this Agreement. If you choose this option, you have authorized us to donate your Clothes to our Charity Partner and the inbound service fees that you have paid to us will be donated to the Charity. Also, we will notify and update you if there are any changes being made.

4. Buying Clothes

Under this section, its purpose is to list information related to buying clothes through our Site. If you are only interested in selling your Clothes, please refer to Selling your Clothes.

4.1. Payment of Purchased Goods

When browsing through our Site, our users should know that it is completely free but must agree to pay for any items when you have committed to purchase of goods. You will be entering a legally binding agreement to purchase the item when you have committed to buy any item on our Site. Payment for any item may be made through our third-party financial service, through Bank-in-Transfer directly to our Financial Account. You will be required to present your ScreenShot of the Bank-in-Transfer receipt as evidence to our WhatsApp number +673 713 2039/ 733 3190. You are solely responsible for paying all shipping costs and additional fees (if applicable) with the purchase of any item.

4.2. Return Policy

We try our best to make your experience, as awesome as possible but if you decide to place a return request, either it doesn't fit or you have changed your mind. You have 7 days to place a return request in order to have a full refund. If the 7 days period has gone by, we, unfortunately, won't accept any return request and you will not be receiving a full refund. ALL ITEMS RETURNED SHOULD BE IN THE SAME CONDITION IN WHICH YOU RECEIVED THEM.

You will need to tell us your order ID, eligible reasons for the return (picture evidence), original receipt (screenshot), and contact number for an immediate response. 

 

Note that you will be responsible for return shipping costs, at a flat rate of $2 (for all districts). These shipping costs are NON-REFUNDABLE. Once your returned item is received, we will notify you via email and call, that we have received the returned item. In due process, we will check the condition of the returned item, either ACCEPTED or REJECTED we will notify you. If accepted, then you will be eligible for a full refund, whereby you need to provide us your bank details (via Whatsapp or Email) for the refund process to proceed. 


Fixed priced and final sale Clothes are non-returnable and non-refundable. Our customers are very important to us, and we try our best to give our 100% service to them. In the event, that you are less satisfied with our service, please don’t hesitate to contact our Customer Service by emailing us at retailthriftlink@gmail.com or chat with us at +673 868 288/713 2039 via Whatsapp, so that we can assist in resolving the issue.

5. Shipping & Delivery 

At Retail Thrift Link, we do offer outbound shipping to your doorstep (if applicable). We charge base on regional distance. See below for shipping fees:

 

  • Brunei - Muara = $2

  • Tutong = $3 

  • Belait & Temburong = $3

 

If an order does not arrive with you in the next 7 days from the date purchased, we will refund your order, please do contact us at +673 716 5048/ 868 2881 via Whatsapp, if this was the case.

6. Accuracy of Your Information

This policy requires that vendors act fairly and honestly upon using Retail Thrift Link services to ensure a safe buying and selling experience for all parties. All sellers must:

 

  • Provide accurate information to retailthriftlink and our customers at all times

  • Act fairly and not misuse any known and unknown exploit that exists within the retailthriftlink platform

  • Not attempt to sabotage or abuse another Seller, their listings or ratings

  • Not attempt to influence customers’ ratings, feedback, and reviews

  • Not performing deal with customers outside of retailthriftlink platform except when the product involved is not listed

  • Not operate more than one selling account on retailthriftlink(.com) without a legitimate business need

Violating the Code of Conduct or any other retailthriftlink policies may result in actions against your account, such as cancellation of listings, suspension or forfeiture of payments, and removal of selling privileges. More details about these policies are below in section 11.

7. User Comments, Feedback, and Other Submissions

Any interaction that comes between sellers and buyers or sellers and sellers must be conducted in a neutral manner, sellers must not influence the comments, feedback, and other submissions related to other sellers. The action below is regarded as unethical by retailthriftlink standards and is against our policy.

 

  • Pay for or offer an incentive (such as coupons or free products) in exchange for providing or removing feedback or reviews

  • Ask customers to write only positive reviews or ask them to remove or change a review

  • Solicit reviews only from customers who had a positive experience

  • Review your own products or a competitors’ products

8. Our Rights & Ownership

Any form of media including photos, videos, and music posted on retailthriftlink.com are protected by Brunei Darussalam copyright’s law under the copyright order 1999 act and the copyright (amendment) order 2013. Any content creator that wishes to obtain and use media belonging to retailthriftlink.com must first contact us via email at retailthriftlink@gmail.com, or via chat on Whatsapp at +673 868 2881,  in order for you to get presentable permission. Content creators that have obtained permission to use retail thrift link media are also required to give credit towards retail thrift link creators.

9. Usage Limitation

We do not guarantee that the use of this website will be compatible with all hardware and software which may be used by visitors to the site.

10. Our Privacy Practices

We highly value our user’s concern for their privacy to reflect this our terms and condition will include the clarification of the privacy policy of Retail Thrift Link.

10.1. Information that We Collect

We collect the information you provide when you use our website, including when you sign up for an account, create or share content. This can include information such as demographic information such as name, age, gender, etc. It can also include what product have you listed on our website, so we can do adjustments on the website to make you and your products easily accessible by potential buyers. If you are highly concerned about the content or information you are going to provide feel free to contact our support teams.

This Agreement becomes obsolete when you or retailthriftlink.com terminates it. You at your own discretion have the right to terminate this Agreement at any time by discontinuing your use of the Site. We may also terminate this Agreement at any time and for any reason, we assume to be relevant without notifying you. Accordingly, at any time we may deny you access to the Site. Upon termination of this Agreement, you need to terminate all the use of the Service provided by the Site. However, this Termination will not affect any right or relief to which we are entitled at law or in equity. The terms and conditions in this Agreement by its nature and context are intended to survive, unless otherwise. 

 

If we exercise this right and notify you of such notice, you will have additional 30 days from the date of our notice to reclaim the Clothes. You can reclaim your Clothes by notifying us in your account via the dedicated chatbox or simply call us. However, you will be solely responsible for the shipping costs of any reclaimed item. Please refer to (insert link) for more information on shipping fees. IF YOU DO NOT RECLAIM YOUR CLOTHES WITHIN THIS 30 DAYS PERIOD, WE ARE OBLIGE TO TAKE POSSESSION OF THE ITEM AND WE WILL, WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE AND IN OUR RIGHT, HAVE THE FULL AUTHORITY TO SELL AND DONATE TO CHARITY, OR OTHERWISE DISPOSE OF SUCH CLOTHES WITHOUT ANY FURTHER OBLIGATION, PAYMENT, OR OTHERWISE TO YOU. 

 

In the event, you breach any of the Agreement set by the Site, we may report your fraudulent activity to the relevant law enforcement authorities and we will willingly cooperate with the relevant authorities by disclosing your identity to them. Additionally, your right to use our Service will be void and ceased immediately, and we have the sole right to change, decrease or withhold your sales proceeds if any Item, until a resolution is resolved.

Retail Thrift Link website is controlled and operated by using the Wix platform from our offices in Brunei Darussalam. The formation, existence, construction, performance, validity in all aspects whatsoever of these Terms and Conditions or any dispute in relation to the materials contained in this website shall be governed by Brunei Darussalam law. The Brunei Darussalam court shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes which may arise out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or use of the website. In conjunction with that, users must also be obliged towards following the terms and conditions of the Wix platform which can be found here. Your continued use of this website indicates your acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
